I want to provide personal and business VALUE.
I have two (2) main missions:
- I want to help you feel good about yourself.
- I want you to pay (or otherwise compensate) me, because you cannot afford to lose me. (because I make you too much money)
Mission #1: I want you to feel better about yourself for the right reasons--things that are true, not based on denial.
My main mission is to make your life better (without making mine worse ;-)
Putting it into a statement:
I want you find ways to help you earn the right to feel better about yourself.
What does that mean?
Honestly, it is pretty open-ended yet accurate.
If you are trying to learn something, I want you to know that you are able to learn it. I want you to realize that it is easy to understand--not hard like you thought. You really are a lot smarter than you thought.
If you are trying to improve your situation, I want to help you see something clearly that you might never have even considered. You really can improve it, and the solution has been in front of you this entire time.
If you are trying to get more customers, I want to guide you into your mind about what you already know about your customers. You really can do something to draw more customers to you. You are able to make your current customers more enthusiastic about you.
If you want to be more productive, I want to help you see where you are struggling, and I want to help you find why you are struggling with that. We all can be less productive than we envision, and you are able to see what you can do to improve it. It's not just because "you're lazy."
If you feel like you have little to offer, I want to help you see what special skill you have. We are all unique, and you know or understand something that someone else does not. They will be happy to find you, because you will bring value to them.
I want you to be excited to work with me, because I deliver so much more than you ever expected, and I'm too happy to deliver that surprise.
Mission #2: I want to make money by helping you make money for yourself.
I do not want to get paid "just because."
There are a lot of people who expect to get paid a high dollar in advance only to produce lower quality work than the buyer envisioned.
We all make mistakes, and by definition it is impossible to do the best work every time.
However, I always want to TRY to do my best...for myself and for you.
I am not interested in being abused by someone who expects me to perform something without something resembling fair compensation.
However, I refuse to get paid for my activity that does not lead to productivity. Frankly, I'd be too embarrassed, for myself, to receive anything for (what turns to be) nothing.
Just make sure that you compensate me properly when I HAVE been productive for you.
The only way I know how to be a good value is to get paid when I provide value--not just work.
I want to provide personal and business value. The conversations are different, but my intention and analytical approach are the same.
